JVTech News iPhone 15: curved edges, USB-C and telephoto lenses, insiders already know what to expect for the iPhone 2023
2023 will be the year of the iPhone 15, there’s no doubt! And while the latest iterations of Apple’s smartphone were released last September, some insiders already seem to know a little more than anyone about Apple’s next phone.
The iPhone 14 was not the smartphone of all records for Apple
Like every year since 2007, Apple risks gratifying us with the release of a new iPhone in 2023. And while expectations are as high as ever, the results aren’t always bombastic for one of the world’s most influential companies. If 2022 was the year of the iPhone 14 and the famous Dynamic Island, 2023 should therefore be the year of the iPhone 15. And believe us, Apple will want to do much better than its latest iteration!
While the next iPhone isn’t expected to come out until fall, Apple insiders like Mark Gurman, Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo always have juicy insights to distill. We don’t know where they got them from, but it is clear that every time (or almost) the three friends are right. At the moment we don’t know much about these future iterations, although they should have a lot more news to claim than those of 2022.
iPhone 15: are changes to the shovel to be expected?
Let’s start immediately from what interests us the most: the price. As you can imagine, this information is far from an open secret, but a trend is emerging nonetheless. While iPhone prices rarely fall year-on-year, 2023 could be the earliest. In fact, the prices of the iPhone 14s caused such a stir when they were released that Apple may decide to freeze them or lower them slightly. Information to be taken with a grain of salt, given that none of the three insiders shared information on the matter.

As with the iPhone 14, the iPhone 15 is expected to be available in four modelsthe only change to report from this point of view, Pro models could now go by the Ultra namesecond Marco Guman. This change would further accentuate the differences between iPhone models and also follow the logic of the Apple Watch.
Design-wise, a lot of changes are also to be expected Tim Cook and his teams could choose to bring back curved edges, combining them with an ultra-strong titanium frame (see photo Apple Insiders). Some rumors also point to a new technology integrated into the side buttons, which allows a tactile feedback. Another possible change the transition from Lightning to USB-Cfollowing the decision taken by the European Union in October 2022.
Even the noises in the corridor suggest it all iPhone 15 models could come with a 48-megapixel lens while the iPhone Pro (or Ultra) could carry more a 12 megapixel periscopic telephoto lens – to improve the optical zoom. For the moment it is difficult to say if all this information will come to life next fall, but one thing is certain, iPhone 15 is not finished talking about it.
