The Swiss Red Cross (SRK) Graubünden is currently dealing with this matter. Because during the holidays in Graubünden more blood was needed than donated. “We needed a lot of reserves, so our stocks are now at a minimum,” explains Sonja Heer, head of the regional blood donation service SRC Graubünden in an interview with TV Southeast Switzerland. Care was taken to ensure that the stock was filled before the holidays, but as many donors were not at home at the time, were busy or ill, the reserves were not filled sufficiently.
