In yesterday’s shooting on Ojamastraat in the Flora resort, Revinio Ondaan, 39, has tdied instantly. Suriname Police writes today that Revinio approached Diego U. of BBS with a sharp object, who was forced to use armed violence.
The Surinamese police investigation shows that Revinio raged against some taxi drivers on the corner of Oewana and Ojamastraat shortly before the shooting. As he passed the suspect’s house, for no reason, he scolded the suspect, who was busy with his car in his backyard.
The BBS man paid no attention to Revinio, but told him to go ahead. At one point, the victim entered the BBS yard and threw a rock at the man. Diego then approached his balcony while the victim stood with a piece of wood and made threatening statements to the BBS’er.
The man then entered the house and exited with his service pistol. The abuser ran home and armed himself with a sharp object. The BBS’er visited Revinio’s home to talk to his mother about her childlike behavior.
On that occasion Revinio approached the BBS man with the sharp object, who was forced to use armed violence. The attacker was shot with fatal consequences for him. A doctor officially confirmed the victim’s death. His lifeless body was seized by the police for an autopsy on behalf of the Surinamese Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspect’s service pistol was also seized pending investigation. After coordination with the prosecutor, suspect Diego was taken into police custody. The investigation into this case has been transferred to the Capital Crimes Department.
Research also shows that Revinio was terrorizing the neighborhood. The victim was known to Flora Bureau police as a bully, as she had been arguing with neighbors for some time. Due to her terrifying behavior, the police had to intervene several times.
