PDIP DPP chairman Eriko Sotarduga explained the topic of the PDIP chairman’s proposal Megawati Sukarnoputri run for president in Elections 2024. Eriko said he didn’t want to make assumptions in response to this.
“I don’t want to, even though my name is Eriko Sutarduga, I don’t want to make assumptions. How can I ask the general president, ‘Do you want to run or not?’ It is unethical,” Eriko told Tanah Tinggi, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta on Sunday (8/1/2023).
Eriko let Megawati pass it on to the PDIP DPP board. According to him, it will be presented closed and internal.
“Let me ask the DPP manager later, of course we are obliged to the DPP manager to give him input. But of course it is internal and closed, this is PDI Perjuangan style democracy,” he said.
Eriko said that she had previously received information from young people proposing Megawati to run again as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election. This too will be reviewed before the young people’s proposal is presented to Megawati.
“If Pak Jokowi is not possible, why not Ms. Mega. This is a reasonable suggestion. I will have to pass it on to Ms. Ketum because she is not our authority. We can only make suggestions and what is interesting is from young people. Yesterday I passed it on in Mas Budi and so on, this is first reviewed so that the data is valid to be presented at Ketum. This is the result of the discussion,” Eriko said.
Eriko said she just received the proposal, so she had to revise it in deciding the presidential candidate in the 2024 election made by the PDIP. The decision to announce the name of the presidential candidate remains with Megawati.
“Who will decide next, but in fact we have just received the proposals ourselves. Yesterday it had to be studied and interesting and this is also being discussed in many quarters today. But again, this is a proposal from the results of the discussions regarding the decision of course it will be from the president, then the general public will decide what it is like,” Eriko added.
