“Suspicion” on the ship issue and the matter is not with the government

Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s media adviser Fares Gemayel stressed this evening Sunday that “there are big question marks that may constitute ‘suspiciousness’ on the issue of the ships, which have been fixed as a fait accompli.”

In an interview with Al-Jadeed, he said, “The question is, who took these ships out of the picture of the documentary credit that needs to be opened before letting them in?”

He added: “Those who have entered these ships and passed them in this way that violate the law must be held accountable. The problem is not with the government, but rather with those who brought the ships.”

Al-Jamil explained: “Mikati has repeatedly stressed that there is no possibility of transferring the electricity loan outside the assets, which requires issuing a decree or holding a government session, and the premier is making the necessary contacts for this .”

Gemayel felt that “some people create a problem and pretend the prime minister stops unloading ships”.

He explained: “Regarding Hezbollah, communication continues with it.”
