The Agricultural Association of Galicia (ASAGA) presented this week its candidacies for the elections convened in the Regulatory Councils of Denominations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications of Galicia. ASAGA will participate in 12 of the 15 organizations that will renew their plenary sessions in February.
The association presented 100 candidates on the lists with which it participates in 26 censuses. “This data means a significant increase compared to the last elections held in July 2017, in which it was present in 17 censuses of 9 Councils. A notable increase, above all, if one takes into account that on this occasion elections were not held in two IGPs in which representation was obtained six years ago”, the agricultural organization underlined.
The president of the Galician Agricultural Association, Francisco Bello, hopes that “with the support we hope to obtain in these elections, our organization will continue to be a point of reference in the Galician rural environment, defending the interests of ranchers, farmers and PMI food farmers in our country”.
«From the association’s board of directors -Francisco Bello continued-, we want to thank the commitment and enthusiasm of all the people and companies that make up our lists. And, of course, we also want to highlight the tireless work of all ASAGA members and collaborators who have managed to compose all these nominations in record time, despite an electoral calendar that has imposed an extra effort in the midst of the holiday season». .
