ERMELO – The transport company St vd Brink takes over the transport activities and employees of Bremer Transport in Burum. The acquisition of the assets covers 20 transport units and 24 employees and represents a further expansion of the activities of St vd Brink.
Growth in the construction sector
Part of the strategic path of St vd Brink is to grow in the construction sector. The acquisition puts a nice spin on that. With the takeover, employment is guaranteed. The other aspects, such as name and location, remain guaranteed. Alwin Bremer will remain involved with the business.
“After completion of the final formalities, the takeover will be a done deal with retroactive effect from 1 January 2023, with a closing date scheduled for 1 April,” explains Gerrit Jan Mulder, director of St vd Brink.

Common parts
St vd Brink is a family business that has believed in the motto “Together forward” for years. After it was discovered that Alwin Bremer was open to a possible sale, the roadmap was quickly drawn up for both sides. “At the first meeting we said that the feeling on both sides must be good to continue the process. This feeling turned out to be positive, also because both our companies are family businesses with a rich history. For me, St vd Brink was also the party to which we transfer our company,” says Alwin Bremer.
The Bremer Company once began as a horse and carriage messenger. Four generations later, Bremer is today a specialist in the exceptional transport of sea containers, construction chains, timber structures, crash barriers, construction cameras and timber. With mobile cranes, in addition to transport, the transported load can be immediately positioned in the right place up to a distance of 36 meters.
After the Bremer takeover, St vd Brink has 800 employees and 410 of its own tractors. With the expansion of this location in Burum, the nationwide coverage has also increased. With this, St vd Brink is preparing for emission-free city logistics for major cities in the north of the Netherlands.
