Those with magnitude 4.9 and 4.7
Two earthquakes measuring 4.9 and 4.7 shook the eastern Aegean Sea this morning, DPA reported. The louder of the two occurred minutes before 4 a.m. and woke up many people, local media reported.
The second quake occurred at 8:39 am, according to information from the Athens Institute of Geodynamics. The epicenter of the tremors was about 17 km below the surface, near the popular tourist village of Molivos, in the northern part of the island of Lesvos.
No injuries or damage have been reported so far, state radio said, citing civil defense forces. According to local media, the earthquake was felt in almost all the islands of the eastern Aegean Sea, as well as along the Turkish coast.
