HTC has finally revealed its new all-in-one, augmented and virtual reality headset: the HTC Vive XR Elite. The debut of the device, held during CES 2023, has already arrived it was leaked in December 2022with analysis that the device would come to compete with the Meta Quest 2, Meta version.

It also has 4K resolution with 2K screens for each eye, a 90Hz refresh, and a 110-degree field of view: front and side cameras, plus an RGB version on the front to support mixed reality experiences. The glasses also have a Snapdragon XR 2 chipset with 12GB RAM and 120GB ROM for local game and content storage. HTC’s headset is intended for both entertainment, such as gaming, and other exercises.
Thanks to the very flexible removable fabric design, which is easy to clean and change, the device also looks very comfortable. Another interesting detail is that, for those who wear glasses, it will not be necessary to stay with the vision corrector to use the headset: it has integrated the diopters, a unit of measurement that refers to the refractive power of the lenses.
From improved, directional audio to batteries that last longer and also recharge faster, the Vive XR Elite promises to be the most technologically advanced on the market, without abandoning the practical functions already known, such as connecting to a phone or PC with USB-C. Plus, it can be folded up like a pair of sunglasses and stored in a compact case for travel.
As for content, HTC says more than 100 games will be available at launch.
The forecast is that the HTC Vive XR Elite will be on shelves from February for US$1,099 – around R$5,800 in the current conversion.
