Rain continues in Oman, thunderstorms possible; Plaintiff’s Trapped Family Rescued Gulf News | News from the Middle East

The rain continues in the northern region of Oman. Musandam Governorate received the most rainfall. As part of the low pressure buildup, Buraimi, North Bathina and Dahira governorates have been warned that the rain will continue on Sunday. The Civil Aviation Department also said there is a possibility of thunder and lightning.

Meanwhile, civil defense and ambulance rescued a family of three trapped in a wadi in Khasab Vilayam, Musandam governorate. They were trapped in the plaintiff’s car and were taken out by rescuers. Rains in and around Khasab flooded the plaintiffs. The civil defense authorities had warned that people should not descend from the wadi and that vehicles should not land on the wadi.

At the same time, the authorities have advised people to ensure safety in case of continuous rain. At various points, 10 to 40 mm of rain may be received. A surge in plaintiffs is also likely. The wind speed will be between 28 and 45 km/h. The coasts of the governorates of Musandam and North Bathina can experience waves of two to three metres. Waves are likely to rise up to two meters on other coasts of Oman.
