Student stuck in fence killed after car crashes into checkpoint in Medan

A student, FJE (18), crashed into a traffic island at Jalan Imam Bonjol, Medan, North Sumatra. FJE also died because he got stuck in a roadside guardrail.

Reported detikSumatra, Saturday (7/1/2023), the accident occurred this morning. The car driven by FJE allegedly lost control and then crashed into a traffic island.

“Then the car overturned to a stop on the steps of the Tiara Convention Hall,” said Iptu MP Medan Police Unit Chief Baru.

The victim died at that moment. The victim’s body is currently in Bhayangkara hospital in Medan.

MP said that in the Honda Jazz car with police number BK 1043 ZS there were three other passengers, namely NA (18) and DB (18). The crash left NA and DB injured and they were rushed to hospital for treatment.

According to the interim statement by survivor NA (18), the accident was caused by the vehicle’s high speed resulting in loss of control of the car.
