Magic Dog shot four times in the head survives with one bullet lodged in the eye

Erabaru.net. She has dedicated her life to saving disabled dogs suffering at the hands of humans, unwanted puppies.

Kasey Carlin takes care of a dog that has been brutally shot for fun, had its paws and ears cut off, its muzzle mutilated and its eyes blinded.

The 28-year-old even adopted four of the pups who needed loving homes most, including Millie who experienced almost unimaginable horrors in her nearly four years of life.

A Russian street dog, someone attempted to end his life when he was three months old.

He was shot four times in the head and the bullet lodged in his skull and eye before hitting his muzzle.

“They ended up pinching his nose,” Kasey said.

The animal behaviorist fell in love with Millie and her long lolling tongue and raised money to bring her to England.

Kasey, from Brighton, said: ‘When we rescued him he couldn’t breathe properly, he was crying in pain but still running at people, wagging his tail.’

A metal tube had been inserted between his eyes to serve as a nose, but three days after he arrived, he sneezed and had to be operated on where the vet gave him a new nose.

Millie also had her right eye out after a bullet lodged in it.

Kasey said: ‘I don’t really care what he looks like, so if his eyes are causing pain and irritation, take them out. She no longer feels uncomfortable ”.

Millie has only 10 teeth and uses her three lower right molars and her tongue to pick up food.

That meant eating was a messy routine, until a friend nominated Kasey for a TV show called The Woodland Workshop that features expert craftsmen who make amazing crafts for local heroes.

Carpenter Ciarán Ó Braonáin made a dining table for Millie and a matching table for Kasey.

Kasey said, “Despite what has happened to her, Millie loves people and can play tug-of-war and collect toys.”

Kasey also recently adopted Momo, who he believes is the first dog in the world to have all four legs replaced with osseointegrated limb prostheses, where artificial implants are embedded into bone, which then turns into implants.

Kasey said, “As far as we know, Momo is the first dog in the world to have osseointegrated prostheses in all four limbs.”

“He can run, he can jump, but he has to keep his feet clean every day, which is hard work for a little dog who wants to run and play in the mud.”

Kasey’s fourth dog is six-year-old husky Mishka, and nine-year-old Maggie, who was used as target practice by Lebanese thugs, left her with 200 bullets lodged in her face, chest and body.

One of Maggie’s ears was also cut off, her eye removed and her jaw broken.

Kasey said: “The bullets can’t be removed or they will do too much damage.

“Someone heard his screams and stopped them as they cut off his ear – that’s why he had another.

“But Maggie is the cutest dog you’ll ever meet — I think that’s how she survives, by being nice, but she just happened to meet the wrong people that day.”
