There were 274 entrants to the €300 + 30 Poker New Year’s Festival Main Event at Casino Salzburg, 41 competing today for the €16,500 prize money.
Yesterday, 6 January, the last two flights of the €300 + 30 Main Event were scheduled. Day 1C was played with 30,000 chips and 30 minute levels, followed by Turbo Flight 1D in the evening, where the blinds were raised every 15 minutes. With 86 participants and twelve returns, the last regular flight was the strongest, 31 starters and four returns joined the turbo heat. In the end there were 274 entries (240/34) and €82,200 in prize money.
Yesterday the game was played again until the prize pool was reached and therefore the 41 finalists have already secured the minimum prize pool of €710. Day 1A chip leader Robert Pollmeier with 546,000 chips could not be matched yesterday, Marcel Grubinger, second overall with 444,000 chips, is also far behind.
But there is still some leeway in the final, so it will be interesting to see who scoops the €16,500 prize money. Starts today at 3.30pm
