Representatives of the Taliban movement (recognized as a terrorist and banned in Russia) have called on Prince Harry to stand trial for crimes against humanity. Earlier, excerpts from the new autobiography of Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson, which goes on sale on January 10, appeared in the media. In it, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he killed 25 Taliban while serving in Afghanistan.
“The ones you killed weren’t chess pieces, they were people; they had families waiting for their return,” Afghanistan’s assistant interior minister Anas Haqqani wrote on Twitter.
This was said by another Taliban spokesman, Suheil Shaheen, head of the organization’s political office Sky Newsthat Prince Harry “committed a crime against humanity”.
“They (the Taliban.— “huh”) were freedom fighters for their country, and you (NATO, including Great Britain.— “huh”) were invaders. Their business was legal. They were folk heroes and you were their enemies,” Mr. Shahin said.
He added that the Duke of Sussex should be questioned by a court in cases of crimes against humanity, and said the people of his country had “cursed” the royal family.
Prince Harry has served twice in Afghanistan and has regularly taken part in combat operations against the Taliban. The media wrote that a member of the royal family managed to destroy the leader of the terrorist movement.
