After his authoritative victory over compatriot Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals of the Adelaide tournament (6-3, 6-3), Daniil Medvedev opened his confrontations against the Big 3 by expressing regret for Roger Federer.
“Playing against Rafa and Novak is a privilege. I’m disappointed because when I started giving my all and got into the top 10, I couldn’t play against Federer again and I lost to him three times. I still have the opportunity to play against Rafa and Novak and every time I have this opportunity I want to win. I want to try to give my best. I’ve had tough losses against both of them, but the only Grand Slam I’ve won was against Novak, and it was amazing. I’m happy to play against them.”the Russian said he could find Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.
