The Foundation has confirmed that it is “working on the use of generators, but this matter does not only partially cover the required needs, as the cost of operating generators for long hours, and as is well known, is very high, and Beirut and The Mount Lebanon Foundation is unable to bear its burdens which exceed its budget.”
And she apologized to “subscribers for repeating the suffering beyond her control, especially as the economic conditions on the one hand, and the health conditions related to the Corona and cholera epidemics on the other, weigh on their shoulders , and are forced to spend part of their meager income to purchase often non-sterile water”.
The Foundation has called on affected officials to put the public’s best interest above all considerations and to work towards establishing permanent solutions for the pumping stations, to ensure that their work does not stop and that guarantees the right natural and fundamental of the citizen to clean water.
