Iron Maiden Gets Own Stamp Set as Tribute | Media and culture

British heavy metal band Iron Maiden can join an illustrious list of British bands. The band is honored by the British postal service Royal Mail with its own set of stamps.

Iron Maiden are only the fifth band to receive their own set of stamps from the Royal Mail. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen and the Rolling Stones had already received a set. Twelve stamps feature photos of performances over the years. All current band members can be seen on the stamps. The band’s famous mascot, Eddie, has also been featured on numerous postage stamps.

The Iron Maiden men are very honored to now be featured on stamps. “We were all blown away when we first saw the stamps. We are all very proud that Royal Mail is honoring our heritage in this way and we know our fans feel the same way.”

Iron Maiden recently announced a European tour for the summer of 2023. The heavy metal band is also visiting the Netherlands. The group will perform at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on July 11th.
