Samsung likely to announce its cheapest 5G phone for Belgium – Tablets & Phones – News

Samsung has announced the Galaxy A14 5G, believed to be the cheapest 5G phone in its lineup for this year. The phone will be released in Belgium in a few months, nothing is known yet of a release in the Netherlands.

Samsung promises two OS updates and four years of security updates with its A14 5G, according to the announcement. That’s slightly less than pricier models, which typically get four operating system updates and five years of updates. Compared to competitors in this price range, it is relatively high, because other manufacturers usually stop providing software support after two to three years.

Compared to its predecessor, the A14 5G has become slightly larger, but users also get a larger screen in exchange for a higher resolution: 2400×1080 pixels, instead of 1600×720 pixels on the A13 5G.

The soc is another Samsung model, the Exynos 1330, as had already emerged from the previous certifications. It offers two Cortex A78 cores at 2.4GHz, combined with six A55 cores at 2GHz and a Mali G68MC4 GPU. It is much more powerful than its predecessor’s MediaTek Dimensity 700. Samsung adds 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, which can be expanded via a Micro-SDXC slot.

The camera setup remains largely the same, only the front camera gets an upgrade from 5 megapixels to 13 megapixels. The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh and can be charged with 15W via the USB-C port. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the side, and the phone has a 3.5mm jack for plugging in your headphones. The Galaxy A14 5G will be released in Belgium in March at an as yet unknown price. The A13 5G appeared last spring with a price tag of around 250 euros.
