Six women have been arrested in England in connection with the suspicious death of a one-year-old baby,
It was on December 9 that the baby was found dead in a nursery in Dudley in England, she writes Sky News. The nursery was closed on 14 December by the UK’s administrative body Ofsted.
The reason was that they believed children might be at risk of harm.
Police say three women aged 20, 23 and 50 were arrested on December 16 on charges of manslaughter. They were later released on bail.
Three other women aged 51, 53 and 37 were arrested on Wednesday. Two of them are under investigation for the so-called “manslaughter”, or murder committed by a company or organization. The sixth is suspected of manslaughter.
– We consider the death of a one-year-old boy to be suspicious on December 9 at a nursery school, and an investigation is underway, police said in a statement, adding that the boy’s family was under surveillance.
A spokesman for the area’s ambulance service said health workers were called in the afternoon of Dec. 9 and went to the nursery.
– Upon arrival, employees found a child in critical condition, the spokesman said.
Life-saving measures were taken, but life could not be saved.
An autopsy was performed on the child, but the cause of death is not certain.
