synopsis or introduction
The aim of this dissertation is to show the problem areas of the corona pandemic in relation to children and young people. It shows what limits young people and how restrictions affect the development of anxiety symptoms in children and adolescents. The resulting findings should be used to present options that have proven effective in supporting young people during this period.
In the first part of the elaboration, the concept of Generation Z and its importance within the discourse of social sciences is presented. This is followed by an epidemiological consideration of the coronavirus including the causes, symptoms, consequences and treatment options as well as the development of the virus in the Saarland.
The further course focuses on the different forms of anxiety disorders. Both the characteristics of the anxiety disorder and the treatment options are considered. For the final part of the work, the focus is on Generation Z, to what extent they are specifically affected by the pandemic and what effects the pandemic may have on children and young people.
Homeschooling, contact restrictions, wearing a mask. Measures that were unimaginable before 2020 are now part of everyday life in Germany. The spread of the new corona virus around the world has led to some measures being taken in Germany. Due to the growing presence of the corona virus, the factor of children and young people in particular has come under scientific scrutiny.
This generation in particular has been hit hard by the measures taken by the corona pandemic. Lack of recreational activities, homeschooling, lack of social contacts. This can affect your mental health. Even before the coronavirus crisis, 26.7% of all children and adolescents suffered from mental illness.
