There will be no Russian companies at the world’s largest exhibition for new technologies CES in Las Vegas. The fair opens tomorrow, the BBC reported. Gary Shapiro, a representative of the organizers, confirmed that Russian companies are not invited due to the political situation. Shapiro clarifies that this is not due to US policy, but is an expression of the position of the organizers. More than 10 Ukrainian technology companies have been invited to the exhibition. CES is also ready to accept Russian companies, but only if they left Russia after the war started. Each year, CES attracts over 3,000 companies from around the world, from tech giants to startups. Last year the exhibition was visited by 40,000 spectators, a figure considered low due to the pandemic. Previously attended by 200,000 people, organizers are hoping to hit that number this year. Before the war, Russian developers showed their achievements at CES. In 2020, Yandex demonstrated its self-driving car project. The exhibition is usually visited by investors and heads of large international companies, many cooperation contracts are concluded there.
