Former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov signed the memorandum with Gemcorp quickly and without prior checks by the National Tax Service. And the agency has discovered dangerous interconnections in one of the companies participating in the consortium.
These are the conclusions of the report of the temporary parliamentary commission, which verified the scandalous 1 billion dollar memorandum with the companies Gemcorp and IP3 Corporation for the energy partnership, signed by the previous government and with the participation of the premier Kiril Petkov.
Today, the report that “24 Chasa” has at its disposal will be discussed by the National Assembly.
At the time of signing the memorandum, the Constitution, a bunch of international documents and organizational regulations were trampled on, the document was not coordinated with any department, the two companies had access to a huge amount of information on the entire energy sector, which they have tried to exploit in a rather approximate way and, in general, the interests of the State have not been protected, the parliamentary commission of inquiry found.
Despite Kiril Petkov’s assurances, the ownership of the two companies has not been verified in advance and, after receiving a disturbing post facto report from the National Tax Service, no action has been taken for months, the document also said. And before the deputies of the commission, the head of DANS Plamen Tanchev revealed dangerous interconnections in one of the companies. Soon after the memorandum was signed, Gemcorp was linked by the media to Russian oligarchs.
