It is entirely possible that hospitals are full

According to RZI, flu data in Plovdiv region is not worrying. Here’s what he talked about Plovdiv24.bg Dr. Milena Panayotova. Current general practitioner figures are 62 cases for the district city, as in the summer months, and no morbidity, Dr Panayotova said. At present, however, this cannot be considered a real situation, Panayotova believes, and explained that many of the jeeps on weekends came from Pamporovo, Bansko, and those of their patients who developed symptoms went straight to hospitals.

“So it’s entirely possible that the hospitals are full. But we don’t collect information from them and so the data is skewed,” said Dr. Milena Panayotova.

The other thing that is officially known in the RZI is that out of 56 samples sent from all possible jeep and inpatient practices, there is only a single serologically proven case of influenza A. In the last samples sent, before Christmas and New Years , from 20 samples have not a single case of flu. The others are respiratory viruses and coronaviruses. There is talk of an increase in flu only after the 95th confirmed case, Panayotova stressed.

The situation with the coronavirus is also calm. There are 28 cases for the entire district. There is less virus, it flows more easily and it is not registered, said Dr Panayotova.

RZI hopes that the data will be more accurate and correct on Monday.
