A woman died on Wednesday evening after falling into the water at the Leursedijk in Etten-Leur. It happened around a quarter past seven.
Passers-by saw the woman lying in the water and pulled her out. Despite the efforts of many emergency services, the woman died.
How the woman ended up in the water is under investigation. Police forensic specialists are present.
