NasDem Party Secretary General Johnny G Plate spoke of the insistence on evaluating the two bulging NasDem ministers when news of a cabinet reshuffle or reshuffle emerged. Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) stressed reshuffle authority of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“The NasDem has since its inception built a coalition fighting for presidential candidates, winning presidential candidates together with the 2014-2019 coalition. Carrying forward the development of the state together with the coalition and will continue to be consistent with the statement of the NasDem that determining cabinet members, changing cabinet members is the prerogative of the president,” Johnny G Plate told reporters at the Kominfo office, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (01/04/2023).
Johnny said there shouldn’t be a makeshift president other than Jokowi. According to him, many assume that they influence the prerogative.
“Therefore, let the president make decisions and policies. There should be no snap presidents in this republic. president,” he said. .
Johnny was then asked about his availability if the NasDem seats were to be shuffled. He replied that all sides must be ready if it is Jokowi’s decision.
“All parties, if I say all parties, without exception, because it is a prerogative protected by the constitution, they do not violate the constitution, it is a right of the president,” said the minister of communication and information.
Even Johnny admits he’s ready if it gets shuffled. As presidential aide, he is ready to do anything the president orders.
“Personally, we are also here as assistants to the president. Implementing the president’s policies and directives, is entirely in the president’s hands. What effect will my personal opinion have on presidential decisions, what is a presidential decision,” he said. said.
“What effect does the opinion expressed in this public space have on the president’s decision? No! It’s entirely up to the president,” Johnny continued.
Earlier, Djarot again mentioned two NasDem party ministers, namely Environment and Forestry (LHK) Minister Siti Nurbaya and Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Djarot pushed the two ministers to resign from their posts over the recently surfaced reshuffle issue.
Djarot initially conveyed the reasons why the two ministers who collaborated with Commission IV of the DPR must be evaluated by President Joko WIdodo (Jokowi). He believed that domestic food production was still insufficient.
“Since I am in Commission IV, I convey that the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Forestry of the Ministry of the Environment must be evaluated, in connection with the fact that, for example, we have tried to become a self-sufficient country from the point of view of food, to become a country with food sovereignty, but it turns out that production is still insufficient,” Djarot said at the DPP PDIP office, Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/1).
This member of Commission IV of the DPR then alluded to the decision of the NasDem party which had declared Anies Baswedan as its presidential candidate in 2024. According to him, NasDem would appreciate Jokowi’s attitude if indeed his ministers were reshuffled.
“There are several reasons why the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Environment and Forests need to be evaluated, it is also related to the NasDem party which has already announced its presidential candidate,” he said.
“In my opinion, with attitudes like that, it means that NasDem is Pak Jokowi’s best friend, and whatever Pak Jokowi’s decision, the NasDem Party will appreciate it because Pak Jokowi is a friend of the NasDem Party. So let’s evaluate it together all the same, because in a government process like this there are ethics, there is morality,” he added.
