With the show ‘Quaranta… (Messages from the event horizon)’, which retraces some of the company’s milestones
The company Swing Theater has just completed forty years of experience and celebrates them with ‘Forty… (Messages from the Event Horizon)’, a show that retraces, with a current look, some events of the dramaturgies that have been milestones throughout his professional career. Carlos Sarrio he directs and writes this show he has Eva Blanco, Julio C. García, Begoña Crespo, Antonio Sarrió and Carlos Sarrió in the theater cast Fernan Gomez. Cultural Center of the Villa de Madrid is showing this work in the Sala Jardiel Poncela from 11 to 15 January.
‘Forty… (Messages from the Event Horizon)‘ was born with the spirit of uniting past and present, as the company itself tells us, it is a journey that they propose to the viewer that arises from some previous premises, such as not taking anything for granted, certainty is the enemy of knowledge and poetry it is the most accurate way of analyzing reality. The montage is a succession of scenes in which all these themes are pitted off, without interruption, always with a fast, direct and very eclectic language: absurd dialogues, prosody, monologue, reflection, spoken poetry…
Carlos Sarrió, author and director of the production, adds that celebrating forty years as a professional theater company in Spain is not easy. Many things have happened in these years, but above all beautiful people and shows have happened. Cambaleo Teatro is always committed to a stable team, «a group of people who are not only actors, but also theater activists and who can interpret, write, direct, plan and do whatever is necessary to guarantee the continuity and development of the project. either in a hostile or favorable environment,” he concludes by saying.
Cambaleo Teatro has opted for the contemporary in its shows, programming, educational events, etc. The productions they make do not have a narrative thread, they are themselves creations in which text and movement intertwine, texts follow one another as part of the score, and it is the scenography that creates the dramaturgy. With this spirit of uniting past and present, ‘Forty… (Messages from the Event Horizon)’.
