Yesterday it became known that the American actor Jeremy Renner, known, among other things, for the role of Hawkeye in the Avengers films, is in critical but stable condition after an accident.
– We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition from injuries sustained in a weather incident Sunday while clearing snow, a Renner representative told Variety.
On Tuesday night it was learned that Renner had been operated on and was still in the emergency room in critical but stable condition.
He is said to have suffered injuries to the chest, as well as having his foot hit by a plowing machine.
– Always help others
– Tried to help someone who was stuck in the snow. Always help others, says Mayor Hillary Schieve of the city of Reno, Nevada, where Renner lives. She is a personal friend of Renner and his family.
The local newspaper reported it Journal of the Gazzetta di Reno.
According to Schieve, the Oscar-nominated actor got off his plow to help a passerby traveling by car.
While Jenner helped the stranded man, he was said to have been run over by his own plow, the mayor says.
A neighbor, who happens to be a doctor, he must have tied a tourniquet around Renner’s foot wound to stop the bleeding until he was flown by air ambulance from the scene.
Oscar nominee
Jeremy Renner is best known for playing Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has also starred in such acclaimed films as ‘The Hurt Locker’, ‘The Town’, ‘American Hustle’ and ‘Arrival’.
Renner has also been nominated for two Academy Awards, in 2010 for ‘The Town’ and 2009 for ‘The Hurt Locker’.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses who cared for him,” the family said in a statement.
– They are also hugely overwhelmed and grateful for the love and support of his fans.
