Dell unveiled three new UltraSharp monitors at CES in Las Vegas. One is a 31.5″ screen with an ips panel with more or less 6k resolution, i.e. 6144×3456 pixels. The other two have 2k and 4k resolution, the first of which is curved.
Ultra Sharp 32 6K U3224KB
The most notable monitor is the UltraSharp U3224KB, a 6k monitor with a 31.5″ screen. The monitor has a resolution of 6144×3456 pixels and an IPS panel with a contrast ratio of 2000:1. Support for DisplayHDR is available 600 and the monitor can display 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The monitor also features a blue light filter to reduce eye strain.
The U3224KB has a Thunderbolt 4 connection, a 10 Gbit/s Ethernet port and can tilt 90 degrees. There’s also a built-in webcam with 4k resolution and 30fps and HDR support at the top of the monitor, and sound comes from two 14W speakers. The device will be released in the first half of 2023 at an as yet unknown price.
UltraSharp 34 Curved USB-C U3423WE
Dell has also released a curved monitor, the UltraSharp 34 or U3423WE. It has a 34″ screen with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels with the same IPS Black panel and 2000:1 contrast ratio as the UltraSharp U3224KB. The U3423WE can display 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space.
The monitor has a USB-C connection and, like the 6k monitor, a 10 GBit/s Ethernet connection, but also an HDMI port and a DisplayPort connection. The device will be available at the end of the month, but it is not known at what price.
UltraSharp 43 4K USB-C
At the same time as the U3423WE, Dell is also launching the UltraSharp U4323QE, a 4k monitor with a size of 42.5 inches. Users can connect four different PCs to it, which can then all be viewed on the image at the same time.
The IPS panel has a brightness of 350 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The screen also displays 95 percent of the sRGB color space and has a 5ms gray-to-gray response time.
The monitor also has a USB-C connection and an Ethernet port, but it’s particularly surprising that there is a pop-out dongle port on the front. At the bottom, one USB-A and one USB-C port exit the monitor and have 15W of output. The monitor will be released on January 31, along with the curved model, but the price is not yet known.
