Al-Nasr newcomer Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out about joining the club from Saudi Arabia.
– For me, coming here is not the end of my career. That’s why I want to bring about change and to be honest, I don’t really care what people say. I made a decision and I am responsible for it. I know it’s a very competitive league. Not even people know, but I know because I’ve seen a lot of games.
For me this is not only a great football opportunity, but also a chance to change the mentality of a new generation. Nobody knows, but now I can say: I had many options in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, in Australia, in the United States. Even in Portugal, many teams tried to sign me, but I gave my word to this club to develop not only football but also other things in this wonderful country.
For me, this is a serious challenge. I know what I want and I also know what I don’t want. For me this is a good opportunity to change something, to help with my knowledge and experience in the development of many important aspects. Many probably don’t know it, but Al-Nasr also has a women’s team. I want to bring a different perspective, a different point of view, which is why I took this opportunity.
I am proud to have made this important decision in football and in my life. In Europe my job is done. I’ve won everything, I’ve played for the biggest European clubs. Now I have a new challenge in Asia. I am happy that Al-Nasr has given me this opportunity not only for the development of football but also for the good of the new generation and also for women, for young people. This is a challenge for me, but at the same time I’m happy and very proud,” the forward said at his presentation as a club player.
