Hoonigan Racing Division reports that famed American racer Ken Block died in a snowmobile accident in Utah on Jan. 2. 55 years old.
In addition to being active in rallying and rallycross in the United States, Block gained popularity for his exciting activities, such as actively distributing exciting gymkhana videos, and was known as a symbolic presence in the American motorsports world. In 2007 and 2008 he participated in the PWRC with the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, after which he participated in the WRC driving Ford Focus and Fiesta WR cars. In recent years he has participated in the American Rally Association, i.e. the United States rally championship, with Subaru WRX STI (2021) and Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC (2022).
Block was also the father of three children. He also started rallies with his 16-year-old daughter Leah. Leah was participating in Formula 4 testing in the United States at the end of the year, and the day before the crash, Block announced on his Facebook that he would be streaming a rebuilt 1985 Audi Ur quattro purchased by Leah on YouTube. .
Brock was scheduled to visit Japan at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2023, held January 13-15, and give a talk show at the Toyo Tire booth.
