In 2019, the Inspectorate received just over a thousand reports on general practitioner practices. Two years later in 2021 there were already 1363 and up to and including November 2022 more than 1200 complaints were received.
The Inspectorate says that the increase is due to commercial enterprises buying more and more files, reports the CEO.
Commercial companies often cannot find permanent staff everywhere, which worsens the accessibility of these practices. Patients mainly complain about this and indicate that they cannot reach the office by phone or for a physical appointment.

In view of the increase and previous complaints, the Inspectorate is conducting an investigation into one of the companies: Comed. This company has been around since 2019 and provides more than 50,000 patients with general medical care.
“The Co-Med practice has had our attention for some time due to the numerous reports on multiple locations in the Netherlands. The company will continue to maintain our attention until the investigation is still complete,” said a inspection spokesman. he told AD.
House of Representatives
Criticisms, according to the newspaper, also in the Chamber: “In these practices, patients receive minimal care, the counter is simply closed and the phone is not always answered. People are missing out on the most important pillar of healthcare: the general practitioner,” says MP SP. Martin Heink.
