Prince Harry: ‘I want my father and brother back’

Britain’s Prince Harry says in a new interview his troubled relationship with the royal family was unnecessary. “I want a family, not an institution.”

Both the British channel ITV and the American channel CBS broadcast an interview with British Prince Harry on Sunday, two days before the publication of his autobiography Replacement. Both channels have already released a few snippets.

“I would like my father back, I would like my brother back,” Harry told ITV reporter Tom Bradby, his friend and his wife Meghan Markle. He says they “show absolutely no willingness to reconcile,” though it’s unclear who exactly he’s referring to. “They seem to think it’s best to keep us as the bad guys.”

In the other interview with the American channel CBS, Harry says that Buckingham Palace has refused to support them publicly, while he has seen it happen for other family members. “At some point silence becomes a deception,” said the youngest son of the British king.

Once again he attacks the Palace. “Every time I tried to do it privately, there were briefings and press leaks against my wife and me. The Palace will provide information to a royalty observer and at the bottom of the article he will say that Buckingham Palace has been asked for comment. But the whole article is Buckingham Palace’s commentary.’

Buckingham Palace has said it will not comment on trailers.

Previously, a six-part Netflix documentary was also released in which British Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle voiced their grievances about the British royal family.
