Former KPK Vice President Bambang Widjojanto (BW) accused the anti-corruption agency of coercion in the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E. In response to this, the KPK strongly rejected it.
The accusation was first made by BW on its YouTube account. Then, the head of the KPK’s reporting unit, Ali Fikri, assured that his party was still following up on the report.
“KPK ensures that it remains focused on following it according to the legal provisions, as well as its duties and authorities under the law,” KPK Reporting Unit chief Ali Fikri told reporters on Monday (2/1 /2023).
Ali regretted BW’s statement, which he called an allegation with no legal basis. He said it was feared BW’s words would cause misperceptions in society.
“KPK regrets that there are views of some parties that do not use legal basis. There are fears that this may actually lead to wrong public understanding,” Ali said.
Previously, BW criticized the Anti-Corruption Agency on the issue of different law enforcement processes at the Anti-Corruption Agency. KPK extension he is said to want to elevate the status of handling Formula E-related cases from an inquiry to an inquiry, without first establishing who the suspect is.
The former KPK leader initially spoke out about the investigation into the Formula E case, which he considered madness. The reason was that the alleged corruption case linked to Formula E was just an investigation, but everyone already knew that there was an investigation into the case.
Initially, he read the headline in Tempo magazine, which contained controversy about an investigation without a suspect being named KPK extension.
“Why madness? Because this has never happened before. Determine a suspect or raise an investigation, without naming a suspect. And we know this is the case, the Formula E case. The Formula E case is something thatso special‘ so, so reckless some of the KPK executives,” BW said in his YouTube broadcast as seen detik comtoday.
