The National Secretariat of the CPI said the Supreme Court’s verdict on the demonetization issue was worrying. The far-reaching effects of demonetization in the country, the distress experienced by the population and the false claims made by the central government in this regard were not taken into account by the court. The ruling only touches on the question of law in making the decision. It is already clear that the Modi government’s claims to curb black money, promote digital exchange, eradicate terrorism are all false. The National Secretariat has also asked to publish a white paper on the subject of demonetization.
