Prince Harry hopes for reconciliation with his family. “I would like my father back. I would like my brother back,” the Duke of Sussex said in an interview with ITV, which airs next week. Harry states in conversation that his family has made no effort to reconcile.
Harry’s statements can be heard in a short interview trailer. “I want a family, not an institution,” the prince also says of the royal family. According to him, his departure from Great Britain should never have happened as it is happening now. The Duke of Sussex also says that no one in the family has repented or attempted reconciliation. “Somehow they think it’s best to stay the enemy.”
The interview with ITV will air next Sunday, two days before Harry’s book Replacement appears. The television interview that the prince gave to the CBS program will also be released on the same day 60 minutes met Anderson Cooper.
In an excerpt from his interview released on Monday morning, Harry says he has tried to keep his conversations with the British royal family private. However, he felt compelled to speak about it publicly after all kinds of stories appeared in the tabloids. “Every time I tried to keep it private, there were leaks and stories about my wife and I were made up. The family motto is never complain, never explain. But it’s just a motto.”
Harry made similar statements earlier in the Netflix documentary Harry and Meghancame out last month.
