A 35-year-old man was shot minutes after midnight in a village near Godech, the defense ministry said.

The incident occurred in a house in Shuma village. The man was a guest at a New Year’s party at the home of a private citizen in the country. He was injured around 0.30am when he fired shots in the courtyard of the house with a private weapon legally owned by the private individual. The victim was taken to the “Pirogov” hospital.

The “Military Police” is investigating the case.
