Seasons 1-6 of ‘Superstore’ will leave Netflix internationally in January 2023

Justin Spitzer’s hit NBC sitcom Supermarket will leave Netflix internationally on January 1, 2023, when the license needs to be renewed.

The workplace comedy follows a unique family of employees in a huge megastore. The cast of the series includes America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn and Nico Santos.

The series ran for six seasons between 2015 and 2021, with 113 episodes to its credit.

Netflix has licensed the series in over 27 territories as of January 2021, most of which have licensed seasons 1-5 of the series. Supermarket. The sixth and final season was then licensed to Netflix in most territories 11 months later on December 15, 2021.

The countries licensed for the series are UK, Australia, India and Canada and are now all showing takedown notices.

The series didn’t see much success when it aired on Netflix internationally, but did well in countries like Canada, Australia, South Africa and the UK, appearing in the top 10 for 231 days as of January 2021.

The title has never been released on Netflix in the United States. In the US, the series was originally exclusive to Hulu but, in recent years, has also made its way to Peacock, the streaming service owned by NBC Universal and its parent company, Comcast.

It’s unclear where the series will stream in most regions, but as of this writing, the series is available in full on Now (Sky’s streaming service, owned by Comcast) and in its own section. Peacock.


Netflix will also lose another major sitcom from NBCUniversal in international territories in January 2023 in the form of all 9 seasons of The office. Those in the United States notably lost this series in January 2021.
