“Arabian Trio Night” in Riyadh season…recorded in art history

– Tonight I witnessed the presence of the “duet”, which brought back memories
George Wassouf’s participation inspired the stars tonight
– Walid Tawfiq presented the song “Saudi Arabia, My Love Ana”

Bringing together two or three performers from the front row in a concert for the entire New Year’s Eve is considered an achievement, so as if you could bring together 12 Arab performers, male and female, and present in addition to them the surprise of the evening, which is the “Sultan of Tarab”?

It is indeed a night recorded in Arab art history, and ‘beyond imagination’ as the Riyadh Season adopted its motto for the current season, when the Mohammed Abdo Theater on Boulevard Riyadh City brought together the brightest stars of Arab art that shone in the sky of Riyadh, in the biggest party that was attended on the night of the festivities, the New Year took as its title “Trio Arabic Night”.

Participated in the revival that night which was broadcast live by a number of Arab stations including TV screen ‘Al-Rai’ a group of artists and female artists namely Walid Tawfiq, Angham, Asala Nasri, Najwa Karam, Nawal Al Zoghbi, Latifa Al-Tunisi, Nancy Ajram, Elisa , Assi El-Hillani, Saber Al-Rubai, Wael Kfoury and Bahaa Sultan, who started the concert with the “trio” system, where three artists went up together, to perform a song belonging to one of them, and here the viewer felt that he was not facing an exceptional party by collecting only this number of stars. And also a new idea.

Presence of the duet

Despite the title of the evening, “Trio”, it saw the presence of the “duet”, as those present in the room and the spectators in front of the screens enjoyed what was presented, especially since from what precedes the tape of the memories brought back songs associated with the names of some of them come to mind, including the song “Min Habibi”. I am”, which brought together artists Wael Kfoury and Nawal Al Zoghbi in 1997, and they performed it again that evening on stage together.

There was also the song “Oyoun Bahiya” by the late artist Mohamed El-Ezaby, through which the artist Walid Tawfiq rose to fame. That night, Tawfiq was next to Saber Al-Ribai to perform that song, plus artists Assi Al-Hillani and Najwa Karam’s performance, ‘Duet’ from ‘Al-Meghana’.

Complete surprises

The beauty of the “trio” evening was completed with a great artistic surprise, with the participation of the “Sultan of Tarab” George Wassouf, amidst a storm of welcome, so that his participation would be an inspiration for the stars of the night, and to in turn formed a distinguished and unforgettable conclusion with his participation of all Arab artists with immortal works that he wrote his memories in his singing career, including the works of the late “The Brown Nightingale” Abdel Halim Hafez, and the star Walid Tawfiq presented a patriotic work for the Saudi audience, represented in the song “Saudi Arabia, my love, I am”.

The “Trio” evening documented operas that brought together Arab stars years ago, so that the scene would be repeated in the Riyadh season in a modern and renewed key, among the touches of three musical masters, represented by Amir Abdel Majeed, Medhat Khamis , and Hani Farhat, who conducted the orchestra with creativity and distinction.

Loyalty touch

The “Trio” evening saw a touch of loyalty to the late musician Tariq Akef, who excelled in using the musical works of Arab stars, so that his works were presented in a “trio” way, while the audience interacted with his image that took the stage at the time of singing with his musical works that have enriched the artistic landscape.

The concert was not without the presentation of the stars’ accounts of the song, telling the story of the immortal works they presented in their artistic careers, which contributed to the advancement of the song and its development in the Arab world.
