The barn burned down completely on New Year’s Eve. The fire broke out shortly before half past three on the Rodeschuurderwegje. “We think the fire in the barn was caused by fireworks,” said police spokesman Simen Klok. “We arrested two minors after the fire. They are still in custody. We will now investigate further.”
The fire at the duck farm on the outskirts near Horst was quickly put out with the help of two fire trucks. As 911 services feared that asbestos may have been released, the Hazardous Substances Advisor was called. An investigation is underway to see if and where asbestos has gone down in the area.
