Dozens of temporary workers who sort mail at PostNL in Den Bosch receive an additional payment after being misclassified. They also did not receive a periodic annual salary increase to which they were entitled. The supplementary allowance can amount to 2,000 euros per employee.
One of the temp workers discovered the mistake and went to claim compensation from the temp agency, but they did nothing with the complaint.
The FNV trade union was therefore called into question. After some talks between FNV, PostNL and the employment agency, there is now a solution. The union does not rule out that things are not organized properly in other PostNL locations as well.
According to the FNV, ninety percent of the people who work in parcel sorting centers are temporary workers, some for more than ten years.
