This gang is made up of Freddy Kalas (32), Emma Steinbakken (19), Isaac (23)Karoline Krüger (52), Ingebjørg Bratland (32) and Kristian Kristensen (30).
Excitement and awe are in the air on the big day as attendees will perform songs from Eidsvåg’s extensive catalogue. Already upon his arrival in Kjerringøy, the 68-year-old managed to get the nicknames “Don Bjørn” and “Godfather”.
Watch Eidsvåg tell what his celebrity status has done to him in the video at the beginning of the story.
– I feel the nervousness of my colleagues for what they have to do. I looked at Fredrik (Freddy Kalas, journ.anm.) and he was sweating – I’m a little moved. I’m absolutely sure he’ll be fine,” the veteran artist says with a smile in the first episode.
It turns out to be a lunch and dinner full of touching and beautiful musical moments. At the same time, Eidsvåg dives into life and career and opens up about, among other things, when his career really took off.
Ble arrogant
For much of the 1980s, Eidsvåg was chaplain at the psychiatric hospital in Lier. Over the years, he gradually got more and more gaming assignments in addition to his day job. Participation in the Melodi Grand Prix in 1985 was more or less the door opener for the musician.
The Rogal native decided to fully invest in music.

A little later came the successful albums “Alt du vil ha”, “Allemannsland” and “Landet lenger bak”, which were followed by several Spellemann awards.
Eidsvåg became public property.
In the early 2000s, his success reached new heights when he released the album ‘Tålt’ and sang ‘Mysteriet deg’ with Swedish Lisa Nilsson.
It was also around this time that Eidsvåg started to feel one of the many pitfalls of fame.
– I thought I was popular before, but fytti grisen, then I was the best-selling artist in Norway for a few years, remember at the table in the program, and continue:
– Then believe for a moment what everyone says. Everyone is out there and it’s a yes person. Everything is so wonderful. You’re invited to everything, everything is free for a period of time, and you arrive first in the queue.
Celebrity status had taken a toll on him.
– I’ve become an idiot. He went to my head. I thought I was something special, that I had extra rights.
– I felt that sides of me that I didn’t like were coming out. One of the things that made me act like this was alcohol. I drank a little too much cognac at the time, and it made me mad and insane, he continues thoughtfully.
It blew away the squad and positive response from the audience.
– There were a lot of people who met me at the time who were like, ‘Oh, you did a great song’, and I was like, ‘Shut up’.
I got it together
But finally the turning point came and the ring fox realized that he had to put his arrogance and haughtiness aside.
– For some, “Eg ser” is the most important song they’ve heard, and they’ve traveled far to hear it, and it reminds them of something painful and difficult, but it helped them one way or another, he says, and continues :
This adorable duet will give you goosebumps
– I can’t be that asshole who walks over it and acts stupid. I made a choice: I can’t be like this, I can’t behave like this.
