Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine early in the new year.
He also told Russians that President Putin is destroying Russia and burning the future of Russians.
Following a video address on the 31st, President Zelensky criticized Russia in his New Year’s speech on the 1st, saying that “the terrorist state (Russia) will not be forgiven” for launching airstrikes from the New Year.
“Those who ordered these attacks and those who carried them out will not be forgiven,” he warned.
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry earlier said Russia carried out air strikes using Iranian-made Shahed self-destructing drones and missiles in the capital, Kiev, on New Year’s Day.
President Volodymyr also stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was surrounded by soldiers and gave a New Year’s speech today justifying the invasion of Ukraine (1st).
“He (Putin) is hiding behind you and he is burning your country and your future,” she said.
Earlier in his New Year’s speech, President Putin called the invasion of Ukraine a “special military operation” and argued that Russia had a moral and historical justification for it.
