It will have two 12-minute parts with the theme of town twinning
BARCELONA, 31 Dec. (PRESS EUROPE) –
Barcelona will once again greet the year this 2022 with a fireworks and drone show on Avenida Maria Cristina after two years in which the traditional celebration due to the Covid pandemic did not take place.
The party, organized by the Municipality, will begin at 11.00 pm with the light and sound performance of the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, and will continue with the show by the French company Gruope F.
It will have the theme of town twinning to evoke a call for peace and transfer the idea of community, and will be structured in two parts of 12 minutes each.
The assembly will consist of a first part (before midnight) with a drone show and the second (after midnight) with fireworks.
EVOCATION OF CULTURES
The previous 12 minutes will be an evocation of the original cultures through the celebration of their primitive art and each minute will be dedicated to a different culture, symbolized through masks that are used in some ritual ceremony or to which it gives a special meaning.
These masks will appear in the air drawn by the flight of 200 drones that will create and unmake each of these figures in 60 seconds, and a soundtrack will contextualize each civilization.
The next 12 minutes will be fireworks, intended as a metaphor for man’s communication with the cosmos.
ACCESS CONTROL
The Mossos d’Esquadra and the Guardia Urbana will create an access device with control filters to prevent the introduction of bladed weapons, glass bottles or dangerous objects for safety.
The police device will focus on Avenida Maria Cristina, where 94,000 people are expected (taking into account attendances in 2019), and in the areas of the city center (Plaza Catalunya and Ramblas), in addition to the recreational areas in the center itself, the coast, Poblenou , Paral·lel, Gràcia and Sant Gervasi.
The only access to Avenida Maria Cristina will be through the central street between the Venetian Towers and the public area will be the central street and the sidewalk on the Besòs side; the sidewalk on the Llobregat side will be closed and will be used exclusively by emergency teams.
Access will not be allowed from viale Rius i Taulet or viale Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, as these are streets reserved for evacuation in the event of an emergency and to facilitate eviction once the show is over.
For people who want to leave the area before the start of the celebration, an exit will be set up on the Besòs side of Avenida Maria Cristina (next to Pavilion 1), marked with ‘exit’ signs and with staff from the organization to guide They.
The police device provides for a first crown for access control, a second with a traffic cut on the sea side of Plaza Espanya and a third in which all traffic in the whole square is expected to be cut off.
