“He laid the foundations of the health system”

He points out that “the most current aspect of Lluch’s legacy in socialism is dialogue”

GIRONA, 20 (PRESS EUROPE)

The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, claimed responsibility for the work of the former Minister of Health Ernest Lluch assassinated by ETA: “He left a general health law and laid the foundations of the public health system”.

So he defended him this Sunday during his speech in an act of homage to Ernest Lluch in Mai de Montcal (Girona), the day before the 22nd anniversary of his assassination, November 21, 2000 in the garage of his home in Barcelona

Illa remembered Lluch as a great defender of public services and institutions and for having carried out the “public service policy”.

He stressed that “the most current aspect of Lluch’s legacy in socialism is dialogue”, which he defended in very difficult moments, he said verbatim.

INSIST ON STARTING A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE CATALAN PARTIES

Thus, the first secretary of the PSC insisted on the “need and urgency” to start a dialogue between all the Catalan parliamentary groups.

“We see things differently on how we need to connect with the rest of Spain and Europe, but that doesn’t mean we can’t talk and reach agreements,” he said.
