Anna Odine Strøm (24) won the third competition of the women’s jumping week in the Slovenian resort of Ljubno and also secured the first individual World Cup victory of her career.
– I have no words to describe it. I am very satisfied, says the jumper from Alta in an interview broadcast on Viaplay after her first World Cup victory was a given.
Odine Strøm was 3.8 points ahead of Austrian Eva Pinkelnig after a jump of 91.5 metres, the longest jump of the 1st round.
The management kept Strøm with a jump of 90.5 metres. She won the race just 0.9 points ahead of Austrian Eva Pinkelnig. Third place went to Katharina Althaus from Germany.
Anna Odine Strøm is second 23.3 points behind Pinkelnig in the Hoppuka round-up before the final race on Sunday.
The fourth and final competition of the women’s jumping week is also organized in Ljubno, Slovenia on New Year’s Day.
Silje Opseth was number 12, while Thea Bjørseth finished two places behind in 14th.
Nora Midtsundstad was number 16.
Ingvild Synnøve Midtskogen was not in the final round after a leap to 78th place. She was number 44.
Kjersti Græsli was eliminated in Friday qualifying.
