It has been reported that Nintendo is considering launching Switch Pro, but canceled it for a reason: ezone.hk – Game Anime- Gaming Games

Nintendo Switch can be considered the most successful handheld game console in recent years and even after launching several special editions or the budget version of Switch Lite, the sales are still satisfying. It turned out that there were reports that Nintendo had considered launching another derivative of the Switch, the Switch Pro, but it ended up being canceled for a reason.

The source in question is Digital Foundry Direct Weekly’s John Linneman, after they were the first to leak that the Switch will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra X1 SoC. John Linneman speculates that the reason for canceling the Switch Pro launch is that Nintendo is concerned that this opportunity will follow in the footsteps of the Gamecube or Wii U, i.e. sales aren’t as good as they are and not many people are paying attention to Success of 2 generations. Even so, John Linneman also said that the brand doesn’t expect any successor models to the Switch to appear in 2023, so the Switch will continue to be the brand’s flagship handheld gaming console for another year.
