Second consecutive shutout for Antti Raanta in the Hurricanes victory

Bob Sutton, The Associated Press

RALEIGH, NC – Antti Raanta stopped 19 shots for a second straight shutout as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Florida Panthers 4-0 on Friday night.

It was the 17th career shutout of Raanta, who had given the Chicago Blackhawks nothing on Tuesday.

Stefan Noesen, Andrei Svechnikov and Teuvo Teravainen hit the target on power play. Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored the Hurricanes’ fourth goal just 10 seconds after another power play ended.

Brett Burns and Seth Jarvis both provided two assists for the Hurricanes as they earned their team their 10th straight win.

The Hurricanes have amassed at least one point in their last 16 games, which is another team record.

The Panthers were shut out for the first time this season and lost for the fourth time in their last five games. They had scored seven goals the day before, against the Montreal Canadiens.

Spencer Knight finished the fight with 30 saves.
