AHMEDABAD – Nine people died in a collision between a bus and a car in the Navsari district of Gujarat. 28 people were injured. It was reported that the bus driver suffered a heart attack while driving the vehicle and the cause of the accident. The bus lost control and collided with an oncoming car. The bus was carrying people who were returning from Pramukh Swami Maharaj Centenary Mahotsav in Surat. The bus, which was packed with people, collided with a car on Navsari National Highway.
The driver suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital, but died of his injuries. Eight of the nine people in the car died. All the injured are passengers on the bus. 11 of them are still being treated. The people in the car were residents of Amkaleshwar in Gujarat. They had an accident on their way home from Valsad. Most of the bus passengers are natives of Valsad.
Due to the accident, there was a traffic jam on the highway. The bus that caused the crash was removed from the highway and traffic was restored. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and others condoned the incident.
