Day sleeper tickets have been discontinued on trains departing from Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: From now on, passengers without reservations will not be able to board sleeping cars in trains during daylight hours. In Thiruvananthapuram division, day sleeper tickets have been discontinued on trains departing from Thiruvananthapuram Central Station.

The new decision is due to a complaint that reserved passenger seats are being filled by sleeper ticket holders. But in trains arriving Thiruvananthapuram you can get sleeper tickets and board all the coaches. In Palakkad division, couchette ticketing has not resumed after covid. Sleeper tickets have been initiated in Thiruvananthapuram division as a result of continued requests from passengers. Meanwhile, sleeper tickets can be embarked on unreserved carriages of 20-day trains in Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad divisions.
