• Accident at the port of Aqaba

On June 27, grief gripped the southern Jordanian city of Aqaba after a tank containing toxic chlorine gas went down while trying to transport it to the port of Aqaba, killing 13 and injuring over 200.

The incident shocked all of Jordan, from north to south, for the suspicious scenes shown by surveillance cameras when the tank fell and exploded, and the dock workers jumped into the sea, so much so that the port of Aqaba recorded a black day in its history.

The third crime occurred in the governorate of Al-Balqa, when a young man in his twenties killed his sister with a gunshot, following an argument between them. The fourth crime claimed the lives of a boy and girl in the capital, Amman. A report was received at the East Amman Police Directorate stating that a husband had strangled his wife and two children (6 and 8 years old).

A woman also killed her son-in-law and burned his body, due to family quarrels. A woman in her 50s was killed after being stabbed multiple times in a theft: a suspect stabbed her under the pretext of theft in Ramtha district of Irbid, and a husband in Jerash killed his wife and child after killing them.

In a crime that is considered one of the most heinous family murders; A husband set his house on fire and burned himself, instantly killing his three children.

A child also ended his life with a gun by shooting himself with his father’s weapon in the capital, Amman.
